PhotographyThe building blocks of the brand: who we are, what we stand for, what sets us apart, our personality, the words we choose and how we show up in the world.
1.1Defining the brand
1.2Brand values
Suncast is the leading U.S.-based designer of resin products for the home. Our outdoor storage and entertaining solutions help you create more beautiful, purposeful, and organized spaces you can enjoy with friends and family.
Our products are designed and made right here in the USA using 100% domestically sourced resin. Everything we do is supported by the strength and ingenuity of American workers, and we are committed to helping families make the most of their unique spaces.
Resin is durable and lightweight, making it right for year-round outdoor use. We use cutting-edge manufacturing techniques to mold this versatile material into a wide range of sturdy and stylish home storage solutions designed to meet the demands of everyday life.
As one of the largest employers in the Western Chicago area, we are proud of our roots and deeply connected with our neighbors. For over 40 years, we have supported a wide variety of local organizations and initiatives in and around our neighborhood.
Body copy pending. The Figma draft still carries template text for this value; see the clean-up list.
The “100% domestically sourced resin” and Made in USA statements are claims. Use them only where legal has confirmed them for the product or channel.
1.3Brand personality
Suncast is confident, capable, and considered, balancing durability with design to create solutions that feel as good as they perform.
We’re the one who has it together: calm, capable, and always ready. The space that feels organized, thought through, and easy to live in.
We bring a sense of order to the everyday. We simplify what feels complicated and make things work the way they should, without the friction. We’re dependable without being rigid. Confident without being loud.
We don’t overcomplicate, and we don’t cut corners. We don’t chase attention; we earn it through consistency, quality, and thoughtful design. Grounded, reliable, and designed to make everyday spaces work better.
1.4Brand voice
We are confident, capable, considered and approachable. The balance shifts with the platform, context and audience.
We’re comfortable in our skin and talk to people at eye level, keeping the language simple, conversational and authentic. Human and easy to understand, but never casual or sloppy.
We are confident and proud of our products, real and relatable. Not arrogant, but confident in what we do. Everything we say is intentional, structured, and design-aware.
We’re smart and quick. We are dependable and functional. We solve real problems and focus on what works: practical, dependable solutions without unnecessary complexity.
We speak with clarity and authority, never overhyped or exaggerated. We don’t hide behind the status quo; we are bold and unafraid.
1.5How we speak
We don’t hide behind fluffy marketing-speak, industry jargon or bland clichés. Clear, simple language is how we connect.
We are a human brand, so we speak person-to-person, not company-to-person.
We zero in on insights that are relevant to our audience. We’re not generic.
1.6Brand messaging

Suncast is the easy way to bring order to the spaces you rely on every day—inside and out.
Our solutions are designed to help you store, organize, and protect everything from tools and equipment to everyday essentials. From sheds and deck boxes to indoor storage and outdoor living solutions, Suncast makes it simple to keep your space working the way it should.
We remove the friction of clutter and disorganization—so you can spend less time managing your space and more time using it.
Store what you need, where you need it. Built to last. Ready for everyday life.

The logo is the central element of the visual system and the same on every channel. Use the master files every time; never rebuild or retype it.
2.2Logo hierarchy
The wordmark with ®. The default for external communications, and anywhere brand recognition is low.
The “S”. For favicons, social avatars, app tiles, product and places where recognition is already high.
2.4Clearspace and minimum size
Keep clear space equal to 100% of the logo height on every side. The same rule applies to the icon. Minimum height: 20 px on screen, 6 mm in print.
2.5Icon usage
Margin equals one third of the icon size, so it has room to breathe.
In social we never shout: the icon is a little smaller and sits slightly right of center so it reads optically central.
2.6Logo color usage
Six approved logo colorways. If color isn’t possible for technical reasons, or competes with other elements, use the black or white logo.
6Deep in a marketing application, the icon can take secondary palette colors. Pick the pairing with the most contrast against the surrounding elements.
2.7Logo placement
A corner placement keeps the logo visible without taking much room, especially in digital. Center it when the layout calls for it, with plenty of space and optical alignment.
Bottom right is the default for layouts built on the grid (chapter 05).
2.8Logo misuse
Cosmos Blue anchors the system, supported by neutrals, deep tones and a few bright accents for contrast. Restraint keeps the focus on product and function. Select a swatch to copy its HEX.
Values come from the Figma master palette sheet and file variables. Where Figma pages disagree, the clean-up list in chapter 11 records it.
3.6Color balance
In a three-color piece, Cosmos Blue takes about 60% of the area and Cream 30%. Light Dove is the accent that highlights the logo.

3.6Approved two-color pairings

3.7Contrast on brand grounds
WCAG 2.1 ratios, computed. AA needs 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text (24 px, or 19 px bold) and interface parts.
| Ground |

3.7Color misuse
Scandia carries the brand voice; DIN 2014 carries structure and detail. Expression comes from layout, scale and restraint, not from piling on weights.
4.2Primary typeface · Scandia

4.3Secondary typeface · DIN 2014

4.6Type hierarchy
Size relationship: subheads are no larger than 50% of the headline size, and body copy no larger than 50% of the subhead cap height. All-caps headlines use Scandia Bold, three words or fewer, at 80% leading.
4.5Setting type
Pick a role and a size. The setter applies the leading and size-based tracking rules and gives you the CSS.
Tracking by size: 0–19 → 0 · 20–39 → −5 · 40–59 → −10 · 60+ → −20. Kerning: Metrics.
4.8Type misuse
Take the longest side of the format and divide by 25. That margin scales with every application, from a story to a 40-inch litho.
Logo width is 2× the margin, per the Figma rule. Figma’s own examples set it wider (about 4–6×), so this is on the clean-up list. E-commerce images use 4× (chapter 09).
Icons distill an idea into a simple form. Most sit on neutral backgrounds; color shows whether they are interactive or informational.
Reserved for profiles, points of interest, numbers and key interactions.
Call attention to key moments that filter and refine content: buttons, toggles and date indicators.
6.2Feature icons
Eight feature icons for packaging, listings and product pages. Use one only when the product has the feature; the label is set in Scandia, all caps.
6.2Badges and seals
Navy, white and grey versions. Use only on products that meet the FTC’s “all or virtually all” standard, steel frames and hardware included, with legal sign-off.

10, 5 and 3 years, set in English, French and Spanish. Use the seal that matches the product’s actual warranty term.

Uncluttered backgrounds or a shallow depth of field make the product stand out. Strong contrast, minimal styling and room for a headline. Products appear as both hero and supporting elements.

Familiar and recognizably American. Not too fancy, not trying too hard to make a statement. A sense of environment without distraction: inspired but accessible, with products featured tastefully so everything feels like home.
Renders sit on seamless light sweeps for clarity. Technical images use a Cosmos field, a single callout per feature with a feature icon, a dotted leader line and a short label in Scandia caps, plus any footnote (“*Lock not included”).
Online, offline, in store or outdoors, every application follows the same system: logo, type, color, grid and imagery.

8.6Packaging

One eight-image stack for every retailer listing, built from the litho system so the box, the listing and the website tell the same story. Each template below is live: switch on the guides, preview it in a listing, and filter by retailer.
Two silo images on pure white lead every listing because every retailer requires them. Six branded images follow, each doing one job: show the details, list the features, give the size, show it in use, prove the build and show the color options.
Author every image on one 2,200 px square master. It meets Walmart’s recommended size and clears every other retailer’s zoom minimum, so one export set covers all five.

9.3Retailer requirements
What each retailer publishes about product images. Confirm against the retailer’s vendor portal before each production run; requirements change.

9.5File names
12-digit UPC padded to GTIN-14.
Walmart recommends the 14-digit GTIN in the file name. Using it everywhere keeps one export set for all retailers.
9.6Before you upload
Color and type tokens exported from the Figma file’s variables, with the master palette values. Copy them into the site theme or any build.
The Figma file is marked Draft and still carries copy from the template it started from. This site uses the corrected version shown in the last column; fix these in Figma so both sources agree.
